A Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to join a growing and dynamic startup working on a high-profile project in Dublin. The company is experiencing rapid growth, with significant upcoming projects driving the need for this key hire. The Senior QS will play a critical role in managing project costs, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the financial success of ongoing construction efforts. For the first two months, this position will require full-time onsite presence, followed by a hybrid model (50/50 onsite and remote). The role will also involve close coordination with the company’s manufacturing site.
Core Responsibilities:
Responsible for accurate cost estimation, budgeting, and ongoing monitoring of project expenditure to ensure construction stays within financial limits.
Manage the procurement process, including negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring best value without compromising quality or project timelines.
Oversee project progress, ensuring any variations or changes are documented and evaluated for their cost impact.
Lead the financial and contractual aspects of the project, ensuring all agreements and contracts are managed effectively.
Negotiate upstream and downstream contracts, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.
Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including the mechanical and structural engineering subcontractor, to ensure smooth project execution.
Skills & Requirements:
A Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role, preferably with experience managing subcontractor relationships.
Strong expertise in managing pricing, cost control, and contract negotiations.
Experience in working with Mechanical and Structural Engineering projects.
Ability to work both onsite and remotely, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
Familiarity with construction project management tools and financial tracking systems.
